Step three: We fabricate, pre-finish the interior, and install the new sashes into your existing main frame.
Why replace the sash rather than the entire window?
the main reason is you will save thousands of dollars over window replacement. If your window sashes are experiencing wood decay, we do not repair the sash, we replace the sash with a new one. A sash is the entire section that swings out when you crank the handle, it is the glass and the wood around it. Replacing the sash is not a lateral move with our product, our sashes are an upgrade on every level from what you have now.
The reason some brands like Rockwell Windows are an excellent candidate for sash replacement is the main frame of the window, (the part in your wall) is solid extruded aluminium, it will never decay. Once you replace the sash, you are back to new window status, almost. We upgraded two very important components when we build your replacement sash. We start with solid full-length Poplar wood rather than finger jointed Ponderosa Pine which is what Rockwell used. We use Accoya Wood for the bottom rail. Accoya is a pressure treated wood that boasts an extremely long-life expectancy. We dip the bottom of the Poplar stiles in a non-toxic liquid called Woodlife Classic 111 to prevent premature wood decay. We use a “Silicone Wet Glaze System” with an interior wood stop when glazing the glass into the sash. We apply a bead of silicone on the exterior at the bottom rail where the glass meets the clad.
Most important… We use Cardinal IG® (insulated glass) because they build the best insulted glass unit in the country, hands down. They have over seventy years of experience and data to prove it.. This is the same glass company used by Andersen, Pella, Marvin, and others in their Premium Windows. Cardinal IG® has a Twenty (20) Year Manufacturer’s Seal Failure Product Warranty. We are an authorized dealer of Cardinal Insulated Glass. For your convenience I’ve included a link to view the Cardinal Glass Industries Warranty as well as their LoĒ³-366 coating which come standard with our replacement sashes. We do everything in-house. We do not outsource anything other than the insulated glass and the profile forming of the aluminium clad and wood. We have full control of the build-quality from raw wood to the installation of the sash. The new sash will have all new wood, LoE glass, aluminum clad and weather strip as well as new hinges top and bottom. The only things we reuse from your original sash are the lock keepers, strut bracket, and control bar. However, we can replace those if needed.
